Hi, I'm Andrew.

Andrew Jaspersohn outdoors on a sunny balcony, wearing a grey knit jacket.

I'm a senior product designer in Portland, Maine, with 6+ years shipping mobile, web, and enterprise products. Before UX, I mixed drinks at a Michelin-starred restaurant, taught art from kindergarten through college, and coached skiing. Those jobs trained the instinct to read a room; UX gave it a discipline. Every one of them came down to noticing what people actually need, and delivering on that with purpose.

I care about the quiet craft: the interaction that feels obvious only after someone thought hard about it, the onboarding that earns trust from the first tap, the detail nobody notices because it just works. I'm genuinely fluent in AI, not as a buzzword but in practice: custom agents, design systems built for how models retrieve information, and tooling that moved things forward.

Three things you can put me on tomorrow.

End-to-end mobile craft

Discovery through shipped iOS and Android — research prototypes, legal review sprints, and settings-level edge cases (silent trip recording failures fixed with two-channel messaging).

Clarity when the data is the product

B2B adtech and partner-facing platforms: save safeguards, bidding flows, nav and homepage overhauls — 100+ screens informed by interviews and DSP landscape research.

An AI practice teammates can stand on

Cursor guides (65% adoption on a 43-person product org), Figma Make in production, QA agents for incoming stories, and a React + markdown pattern bundle for non-designers — infrastructure, not heroics.

AI design as a craft, not a shortcut.

Cursor since October 2025 and Figma Make on day one — paired with onboarding guides, brand-voice agents for marketing, and a portable design-system bundle so non-designers can ship. Fewer repetitive hours, sharper handoffs, same bar for craft.

Don't take it from me alone.

Andrew elevated our entire team's delivery by making design a true collaborative activity, not a handoff. He drove real process improvements, from UX office hours that cut rework to pipeline changes that removed bottlenecks, all while keeping 15 developers aligned on a two-week sprint cadence. I recommend him without hesitation for any role that values strong cross-functional partnership.

Andrew is one of my favorite people to build with. When we collaborate, we make things that are genuinely better than what either of us could do alone. He comes from hospitality and education, so he understands how people feel inside an experience — and he can bring people along clearly. That shows up in his work in ways most designers can't replicate. He also has genuine AI skills, not the kind you put on a résumé to sound current.

Andrew is a highly-productive and collaborative member of the team. He works seamlessly with the development team on App Collective to help deliver and collaborate as the worlds of UX and UI intertwine. Andrew makes it easy and efficient to construct UI from UX designs, with concise and easy communication, up to date designs and continual updates with clear corresponding communication.

Let's talk.

I'm looking for a senior or lead product design role, remote-first. If your team is building something complicated that people need to trust, send me a note. I read every one.
